I spent all morning yesterday trying to create a new product and failing miserably. For some reason if I don't succeed at something immediately I never want to do it again. Fortunately this idea might be worth a little bit of failure. It will make it that much better when I finally get it right.

Since I worked so hard all morning I spent my afternoon making a couple tote bags. I needed to make something I knew I could do well. I did just that and I'm damn pleased with myself.

I got some crafty juju left in me!! Yesterday I worked on
- batch of headbands for my sister and her friends to test for me
- sewing patches on my brother's boy scout uniform
- putting pen to paper and doodling

It feels good to be productive. I've been in such a slump that it's hard to see my way out of it sometimes. My daily goal has been to get out of bed and do anything crafty. If I find something fun that inspires me I'm going to run with it.

Today has been one of those days where you wake up with the best intentions and then it all falls apart. I work from home now and have discovered that motivation and inspiration come in waves.

I get to my point so here's my roundabout way of getting there**

As of 3 days ago I tore my last pair of blue jeans in an inappropriate place and can not bring myself to go try on new pairs. This is a traumatizing experience for me and usually ends in low self esteem, chocolate, and no pants. Since I am without jeans I can choose from pj's, shorts, or leggings. 2 out of the 3 usually leave me feeling kind of naked, and the 3rd results in a day off illusion. I got up, showered, ate, and got dressed. I chose the pj pants today and have been paying for it. I get up, start a project, and then I sit down.

Damn you pajama pants and your illusion of relaxation!!

Putting it all out there

This evening I was reading off blog bits to the husband like I normally do and he asked me why I didn't have one anymore. It really made me think. Why don't I post on here? Am I embarrassed, shy, afraid? Embarrassed- maybe. Shy- no doubt. Afraid- not at all.

So let's do this.
